Colidio arrives in Rio to sign for Vasco | OneFootball

Facundo Colidio has landed in Rio de Janeiro to complete a move to Vasco, with a medical due today. The 26-year-old is poised to sign a deal to the end of 2029 if he passes, and will wear the number nine.

According to Globo.com, Vasco will pay about 4.5 million dollars, R$ 22.9 million, for 50% of his economic rights, with an option to buy the remaining 50% for a further 5 million dollars, R$ 25.5 million, based on contractual targets.

Colidio has been at River Plate since 2023. Primarily a centre-forward, he can also operate off the left or as a second striker. This season he has five goals and three assists for the Argentine club.

Speaking briefly at the airport, he said he had high expectations, thanked supporters for messages on social media, and stressed he knows the club he is joining. He added that he is quick, can play across the front line and backs himself in one-on-one situations.

Vasco had tracked the Italo-Argentine for months and stepped up talks when director of football Admar Lopes travelled to Argentina last week. He went to Buenos Aires to try to close a deal with Racing for midfielder Santiago Sosa, while also pursuing other opportunities.

A former Inter Milan youth player, Colidio has played senior football for Sint-Truiden in Belgium and Tigre in Argentina before joining River.
