Conor Coady departs Wrexham after six games as Ryan Reynolds club ends contract | OneFootball

Conor Coady has left Wrexham after his contract was mutually terminated on Monday. The 10-cap England centre-back departs having made six appearances.

According to Wales Online, Wrexham are closing in on Burnley defender Joe Worrall before Tuesday's transfer deadline after seeing off Sheffield United. The 29-year-old is reportedly set for a medical in north Wales later on Monday.

The former Liverpool, Wolves and Leicester City defender joined from Leicester in August 2025 for an undisclosed fee. He started the first five games of the 2025/26 Championship season, then slipped down the pecking order and moved to Charlton Athletic on loan in January.

Coady made 12 appearances for Charlton in all competitions and, on returning to north Wales, was not named in any of Phil Parkinson's matchday squads so far this season. Wrexham held an option to extend his deal by a year, with the contract otherwise due to expire at the end of the season.

The Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-backed club thanked Coady for his efforts and wished him well for the future.
