The STJD fined Corinthians R$ 10,000 for failing to prevent disorder after supporters abused an eight-year-old who received Neymar’s shirt. The decision was confirmed on Friday.

According to Globo.com, the club were found in breach of Article 213, section I, of the Brazilian Sports Justice Code, which concerns not taking measures to prevent and curb disorder at a home venue.

The incident followed Sunday’s clássico at Neo Química Arena, which Santos won 1-0. Neymar handed his shirt to a young Corinthians fan who had said he admired the forward. Nearby home supporters reacted angrily and the boy and his relatives were escorted away by military police and private security.

The match report for the 25th-round fixture recorded the disturbance, prompting the sports prosecutor to file a complaint against Corinthians. The applicable sanction ranged from R$ 100 to R$ 100,000.

Corinthians were also fined R$ 10,500 for a three-minute delay in returning for the second half and for allowing 67 children, above the permitted number, in the pre-match protocol.
