On Friday, Pedro, an eight-year-old Corinthians supporter harassed during the Clássico Alvinegro, visited CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, meeting the squad and receiving gifts and autographs.

According to Meu Timao, the visit came the day Corinthians were fined R$ 10,000 by the STJD over incidents at the derby with Santos.

After the match, Pedro, who had taken a sign for Neymar, was handed the Santos forward’s shirt, then was harassed by a group in the West Stand at Neo Química Arena.

He and his family left under police escort. The club were charged under article 213, item I, of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice, which covers responsibility for disorder in stadiums.

At the hearing, Corinthians lawyer Sérgio Engelberg sought to have the complaint dismissed, arguing a mischaracterisation, saying there was no disorder as such and noting the club helped the family leave. The club also invited Pedro to Sunday’s match against Chapecoense.

Corinthians later lamented the episode on social media and repudiated the behaviour involved. Neymar also expressed regret, saying supporting or admiring a player from another club should not lead to conflict.
