Corinthians member asks MPF to investigate Arena debt with Caixa | OneFootball

Corinthians member Fernando Rubinelli has asked the MPF to examine the club’s Arena debt with Caixa, citing discrepancies in figures and unanswered questions.

According to Meu Timao, his representation points to doubts over how the liability was formed, evolved and, potentially, settled, and relies in part on an expert study already sent to prosecutors in São Paulo.

The study notes a facility of up to R$ 400 million, then a 2019 Caixa position showing R$ 423.94 million outstanding and a charge of R$ 536.09 million. Corinthians later reported about R$ 630 million outstanding in June 2026. An alternative recalculation suggested R$ 280.34 million as of 22 August 2019, though its assumptions still need testing against Caixa’s primary records.

Rubinelli says he is not accusing anyone, and is seeking an independent documentary and accounting review by the MPF. He also asks for scrutiny of the Doe Arena donations drive, organised by Gaviões da Fiel, which raised about R$ 42 million between November 2024 and November 2025, with restitution considered if overpayments are proven.

He proposes 34 urgent steps to preserve records, obtain the full contracts and BNDES files, and rebuild the debt’s timeline from 29 November 2013.
