According to NY Times, Crystal Palace are finalising a move for Anan Khalaili from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise for around £21m after the player completed a medical on Sunday.
Personal terms are agreed on a five-year contract to 2031, with an option of a further 12 months. In July, The Athletic reported Nottingham Forest had a €20m bid for the Israel international rejected.
Nottingham Forest and Inter Milan had been close to a deal earlier this summer, but Palace are now on course to complete the transfer. Bournemouth and Newcastle United have also shown interest.
The move would be a record sale for RUSG, surpassing the €22.8m (£19.5m) fee paid by Benfica for Franjo Ivanovic in the summer of 2025.
Khalaili, a right-sided wing-back or winger, joined RUSG in the summer of 2024 from Maccabi Haifa and was under contract until 2028. He helped win the Belgian league title in his first season, the club’s first in 90 years, then featured in the Champions League the following year, scoring three times in eight appearances. He made 52 appearances overall, with six goals and six assists.
Palace signed free agent Takehiro Tomiyasu last week, their second addition of the summer after Oscar Mingueza. On Sunday, that report said Everton were in talks to sign Brennan Johnson from Palace in a deal that could see Dwight McNeil move to Selhurst Park.
