Grêmio have filed a collective plan to settle almost R$ 16 million in cases at the CNRD, which has already paused potential sanctions for 90 days. According to Globo.com, the move drew sharp criticism from Cuiabá president Cristiano Dresch.
Dresch said he defends smaller clubs and cited Grêmio’s outstanding sum to Cascavel linked to Bitello’s sale, a dispute active since 2023. He argued the CNRD encourages financial irresponsibility, noted Corinthians are also due, said Sport need funds, and called the situation shameful given Grêmio’s wage bill.
Grêmio did not comment on matters within the CNRD’s remit. The chamber was also contacted for comment.
The club proposed 60 monthly instalments starting once the collective plan is approved. It listed 23 cases totalling R$ 15,949,020.48 including indexation and interest, involving Cascavel, Cuiabá, Corinthians, Grêmio Osasco and Rio Branco.
The filing asked the CNRD to keep sanctions suspended for 90 days, with a possible 90-day extension, to notify creditors so panels can fix precise amounts, to approve the schedule, and to allow new cases and individual settlements during the instalment period.
Claims from agents and former players are also included, among them midfielder Vina and ex-defender Paulo Miranda. Grêmio have recently stressed internal readjustment, cutting costs and avoiding major spending in the current window. Midfielder Arthur left the club as he did not fit that financial reality.
