Edson Álvarez leaves West Ham to join Fenerbahçe on loan for the season, with a purchase option included.

The 27-year-old Mexican midfielder, who moved from Ajax to West Ham in the summer of 2023, has made 59 Premier League appearances. The transfer was confirmed by both clubs. Álvarez expressed his excitement upon arrival in Turkey:

I knew Fenerbahçe was a big club, but I quickly realized it’s even more important than I thought. I’m really happy to be here and I want to give everything for my team and our fans.

The player has promised to show his best form on the pitch and to match the energy of the Turkish supporters, whom he compares to Mexican fans. Álvarez is eager to begin training and make his debut in the Fenerbahçe jersey.
