Everton reach agreement to sign Monaco’s Folarin Balogun | OneFootball

Everton have reached an agreement to sign AS Monaco forward Folarin Balogun (25), according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.

Monaco have been open to selling the USMNT forward all summer. The former Arsenal man had an excellent campaign last time around and significantly bolstered his value. His value was enhanced further thanks to his performances for the USMNT at the FIFA World Cup. He was one of three players earmarked for an exit at the start of the summer alongside Maghnes Akliouche and Lamine Camara. The sale of Aladji Bamba to Newcastle United could allow Monaco to retain the latter.

However, unlike Camara, Balogun was keen to leave the Principality club. ASM, meanwhile, moved early in the window to secure his replacement in the form of Matthis Abline. By freeing up a non-EU spot, Monaco will also be able to finalise the arrival of Erik Lira.

Romano now understands that there is an agreement in place between Monaco and Everton. The deal is worth €45m plus an extra €5m in add-ons. There are now talks ongoing between the Premier League side and Balogun’s entourage.
