Speaking exclusively with FLW, Lee Hendrie has been discussing recent reports that Dejphon Chansiri is ignoring calls to sell Sheffield Wednesday.
Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri appears set on staying in his Hillsborough post, as he reportedly searches for fresh investment in the club rather than focusing on a sale.
This past weekend saw the latest twist in Chansiri's Sheffield Wednesday story written.
A 5-0 home defeat to table-topping Coventry City marked another dark day for the club, as fan protests against Chansiri were ramped up even further when a number of supporters invaded the pitch around the 10th minute.
Everyone inside of Wednesday's iconic stadium stood in solidarity and unison to voice their desire for change, including the travelling Sky Blue army, who also know what it's like to see their club go through incredibly challenging times, with the club having been placed in administration in 2013.
Following that defeat to Coventry, journalist Alan Nixon revealed on Sunday that Chansiri is set on finding investment help, rather than prioritising a sale of the club.
Nixon claims that Chansiri has instructed his top advisors to go out and secure the millions of pounds he needs to pay off a loan, in order to ensure the club's payroll is taken care of for the remainder of the year.
As such, the Thai businessman is currently understood to be ignoring calls to sell the club, despite the ever-increasing threat of the club being placed into administration.
Speaking exclusively with Football League World, we asked former player and current Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie: 'Reports over the weekend have emerged that Dejphon Chansiri is ignoring calls to sell up and is focusing on the extra funds needed to pay off finance. Is this a concern in your eyes for Wednesday?'
Hendrie said: "Yes. It's shocking.
"I mean, everything just seems to be going against them. A real heavy defeat at the weekend, players not getting paid, (Chansiri) ignoring calls (to sell): it's just so bad.
"Something has to get done about that, and the way that he (Chansiri) is going about his business. It's just absolutely crazy to see that this seems to be going from bad to worse.
"It can't get much worse for Sheffield Wednesday. Everybody that's involved with the football club must be absolutely furious about the situation.
"It needs to be resolved very, very quickly."
Sheffield Wednesday supporters are doing everything they can to try and save their football club.
The club is in a crisis situation, and with the very existence of their club at stake, any glimmer of hope must be clinged to.
Despite that, the obvious wishes of Owls everywhere is for Chansiri to sell the club, and so there is an argument to be made that if he can at least find some form of financial investment to keep the club's neck above water for a while longer, then that must be something to push for.
However, whether he and his advisors will find anyone willing to put their money into the club is another matter.
On top of that, finding investors would surely mean that Chansiri would stay on in his role at Wednesday, and that's not what Wednesday supporters want either, with a sale being the only acceptable end to Chansiri's tenure at Hillsborough for them.
Therefore, whilst finding investment could help keep the club going for a little while longer and potentially keep the administrators at bay, it could also see the extension of Chansiri's rule.
