FC Porto have signed 18-year-old Brazilian winger Gabriel Mec from Grémio on a contract to 31 July 2031. He met his new team-mates and staff today and trained at Olival, a day after the move was confirmed.
The club said in a statement that the transfer fee is €11 million, with a maximum of €one million in add-ons linked to objectives. Grêmio retain 12% of any future capital gain.
Grêmio will pay the solidarity mechanism to third clubs, while Porto will cover intermediary costs of 4.5% of the deal, a figure that could double if sporting targets are met.
Mec is recognised as two-footed and can play as an attacking midfielder or on either flank.
He progressed through Grêmio’s academy and featured for Brazil at youth level, including the 2025 Under-17 World Cup, won by Portugal, whom he faced in the semi-finals.
In 2026 he made 32 senior appearances for Grêmio, 14 as a starter, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
