Flamengo have welcomed the return of winger Plata after his proposed move to Dynamo Moscow collapsed. The club said in a statement that the Ecuador international will be reintegrated and is due to report between Friday and Saturday to join the trip to Belém and Quito for league and Libertadores fixtures.

The transfer was cancelled when Russian doctors flagged right knee tendinitis in medical tests, an issue that sidelined him in July. Flamengo dispute that diagnosis, insist he is fit and are assessing possible action against Dynamo over devaluation.

Leonardo Jardim referenced Plata unprompted after the 2-0 win over Mirassol, casting him as a timely addition. After the match at the Maracanã, Paquetá praised a high-quality team-mate who has already contributed and can help again, and Samuel Lino shared the optimism.

With no direct flights from Russia to Brazil, he travelled via another European country. He is scheduled to link up with the squad between Friday and Saturday for the journey to play Remo in Belém in the Brasileiro and Del Valle in Quito in the Libertadores.

With the main European windows closed on Tuesday, Flamengo consider another sale unlikely and are not pursuing an immediate move. Windows remain open in the Netherlands until Wednesday, Türkiye until Friday, Russia until day 10, and Portugal and Greece until day 15.
