Flamengo will unveil Anthony Valencia and Joaquín Freitas at CT Ninho do Urubu on Friday, the club said in a statement, with a press conference to follow.
Valencia, 23, has signed through 2031 and will wear shirt 14. Flamengo paid five million euros, about R$ 30.08 million. Royal Antwerp (BEL) retained 15% of any future transfer, applicable only if Flamengo sell the player.
Joaquín Freitas, 19, will wear shirt 30 and has also committed until 2031. The Argentine winger cost seven million euros, about R$ 42 million. Both signings arrive on long-term deals, aligning with the club’s medium-term planning and representing a refresh to the squad assembled by Leonardo Jardim.
Both players have been registered on the CBF’s Daily Information Bulletin, the BID. They could be available against Remo, with debuts possible in the 26th round of the Brasileirão on Sunday at the Mangueirão, kick-off 16:00 Brasília time.
The pair visited the Maracanã on Wednesday, watching Flamengo beat Mirassol 2-0, a first taste of the matchday environment.
