According to Football Italia, Davide Frattesi arrived in Rome this evening to undergo a Lazio medical, with a €5m loan from Inter set to include an option to buy for another €10m and a 50 per cent sell-on clause.
The midfielder landed at the airport in Rome, where fans and media greeted him. He had been due yesterday, but the move was reworked after financial and registration issues surfaced.
The deal had initially been framed as a €1m loan with a €14m obligation to buy, plus 50 per cent of any future sale. With that obligation deemed too heavy for Lazio without outgoing sales, the clubs reshaped it to a €5m loan and only an option to buy.
Inter keeping 50 per cent means his market valuation stays at €30m, the figure previously asked of Nottingham Forest, Juventus and other suitors.
This marks a return home for Frattesi, who came through Lazio’s academy before switching across the city to Roma in 2014. He shone at Sassuolo, then joined Inter in 2023 for over €30m plus bonus. The Italy international turns 27 next month and has long supported Roma, a detail that did not blunt the welcome from Lazio fans.
