The Red Dragons have been looking to strengthen Parkinson's squad before the Tuesday night deadline, with attention turned to the 28-year-old midfielder.

Blades boss Chris Wilder confirmed on Monday that Wrexham had submitted an offer, but he made it clear that he was keen to keep the midfielder at Bramall Lane.

Both sides are winless in their opening three Championship matches, with United sitting higher after playing out three successive draws.

However, the Championship clubs have now agreed on a deal that will see the midfielder move to North Wales.

According to Sky Sports News reporter Anthony Joseph, Wrexham and the Blades have agreed a deal that will see O'Hare move for £7m.

Joseph reports that the midfielder is due to undergo a medical with Wrexham on deadline day, before paperwork is officially complete.

Wilder had acknowledged that an offer was on the table during his pre-match press conference, admitting that he was unsurprised by the interest.

Alongside this, he also joked that Wrexham themselves are "in for half of the division", with the Welsh club looking to make multiple moves in the final stages of the summer window - O'Hare being a big one.

Callum O'Hare could be a statement signing for Wrexham

During their rise through the EFL under their Hollywood ownership group, Wrexham's spending power has been well documented, with £8m spent on shotstopper Anthony Patterson earlier this month.

O'Hare, though, may be one of the biggest statements yet.

The attacking midfielder has made 229 appearances in the second tier across spells with Coventry, Sheffield United and Aston Villa - racking up 62 goal contributions during this time.

He has proven himself extensively at this level, and has been a regular in sides fighting towards the top end of the division.

Capable of driving with the ball and operating between the lines, O'Hare could make a real difference in a Wrexham side looking to build on a strong season, when Parkinson's side narrowly missed out on the playoffs.

Alongside this, the move shows just how strong the project at the Racecourse is.

It is well known how ambitious Wrexham are, but being able to entice a player of O'Hare's quality away from one of the Championship's biggest clubs is a real statement, matching the intent after the rapid rise through the tiers.
