In Brazil, Cruzeiro replied to a Corinthians post on X, formerly Twitter, to salute 116 years of history. Palmeiras also responded, calling it the biggest Derby in the world and offering congratulations.

Serie A’s official Brazil account also marked the date, spotlighting current and former Corinthians with Italian ties, including Carlos Augusto, Marquinhos, Dida, Sócrates, Leandro Castán, Ronaldo, Casagrande and Zé Elias.

Founded in 1910, the club is among Brazil’s leading institutions, with men’s and women’s football and strong programmes in futsal, basketball and rowing.
