Genoa have reportedly made a €250k loan offer to Olympique Lyonnais in an attempt to secure the services of Mahamadou Diawara (20), according to Foot Mercato.
A purchase option valued at €3m is also said to have been proposed on the basis of a contract running until 2030, which includes an additional optional year. However, the urgency of the timing appears to make the completion of this operation difficult.
Diawara arrived at OL on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023, but only played 16 matches for Les Gones before being loaned out consecutively to Le Havre, where he spent the second half of the 2024/25 season, and then to Royal Antwerp, where he played nine matches this season.
Currently under contract with the Rouge et Bleu until June 2028, the former French Under-19 international does not appear to feature in Paulo Fonseca’s plans, while he is still struggling to establish himself in Belgium.
