The Girondins de Bordeaux squad have voiced their frustration as uncertainty drags on, saying their careers are at risk. The players said in a statement via the UNFP that their situation is worsening and they no longer feel respected.
Excluded from all national competitions by the DNCG on 30 June, Bordeaux saw that decision upheld after appeals to the CNOSF and the federation's Comex.
The club are supposed to restart in Régional 1, the sixth tier, and still face the threat of liquidation. A proposed takeover by Park Bench and Sparta Capital collapsed after National 2 status was not retained.
The commercial court has granted extra time, with a ruling not expected this week or next. They had paused personal moves for months and trusted the club's project, but now see no visibility, no collective training and no sporting plan.
Opportunities have passed, and shareholder Gérard Lopez's persistence is no longer tenable. Each day reduces their chances of continuing their careers in a semi-pro set-up with far lower pay than in Ligue 1. Immediate, clear answers on what comes next for each player are demanded.
