Hugo Souza has returned to full training and could feature for Corinthians against Santos on Sunday at Neo Química Arena in matchweek 25 of the Brasileiro.
Meu Timao reports the goalkeeper trained without restrictions on Wednesday after missing the 2-1 defeat at Coritiba last weekend.
He was left out of the trip alongside Matheuzinho and Matheus Bidu, and ge.globo says he felt a knee strain after a toe-tip save in Saturday's session, which led to youngster Kauê starting.
Following two days off on Monday and Tuesday, the squad resumed work on Wednesday morning, when Souza was reassessed, presented no pain and trained normally. If there is no setback, he is expected to regain the starting place in the Clássico Alvinegro.
His 2026 campaign has been injury free, in contrast to 2025, when two thigh problems and a left-shoulder issue kept him out of the Seleção and ultimately out of the 2026 World Cup call-ups.
Fernando Diniz's side have lost two in a row and slipped to 10th. They sit on 32 points, and a win over Santos could lift them to 8th depending on other results.
Next month brings the Libertadores quarter-finals, with Corinthians away to Estudiantes at Estadio UNO in La Plata in the week of 9 September. The return is set for 19 September at Neo Química Arena, with the winners to meet Flamengo or Independiente del Valle of Ecuador in the semi-finals.
