Ibrahima Baldé rejoins Ligue 1 with Lorient after five in four for Rodez | OneFootball

Ibrahima Baldé has returned to Ligue 1 with Lorient, joining on loan with an obligation to buy set at €3m after five goals in four games for Rodez.

According to L'Équipe, the 23-year-old Paris-born striker, a Lens academy graduate, previously logged only 54 minutes across four Ligue 1 appearances for Lens in 2021-22.

His August included a hat-trick at La Beaujoire against Nantes and two further goals that underlined his form.

Baldé leaves Rodez with 26 goals in 85 Ligue 2 matches, and he had also drawn interest from Nice and the Glasgow Rangers.

Lorient have additionally secured Srdjan Kuzmic, a 22-year-old Slovenian left-back, from Viborg in Norway.

His departure is a blow for RAF, with Baldé having become the club’s record scorer in Ligue 2. Rodez have recently developed and sold several forwards, with Taïryk Arconte joining Millwall, Timothé Nkada moving to Liège and Killian Corredor to Darmstadt before switching to Nantes this summer.
