Issa Habri, a Morocco U20 international from the 2006 generation, has signed his first professional contract with Rennes until 2028.

According to L'Équipe, the left-back or left wing-back has been at the club since 2021, was a U20 Africa Cup of Nations finalist with Morocco, and was called for the most recent U20 World Cup but was not released by Rennes.

Habri scored in the final of the inaugural Challenge Espoirs against Monaco at Roazhon Park, and talks over his deal had been ongoing for months.

He follows Kilian Belazzoug, Nordan Mukiele and Jonathan Do Marcolino, fellow 2006-born players who have also signed their first professional contracts with Rennes.

A former PSG and INF Clairefontaine prospect, Habri is described as having strong stamina, a streak of aggression and the ability to deliver crosses with either foot.
