Grêmio emerged from the Athletico match with another midfield concern after Nardoni felt pain in his left thigh during the second half. Already without Arthur, they will also miss Riquelme against Flamengo next weekend following his late red card.
According to Globo.com, the Argentine asked to be substituted early in the second half and began treatment on his left hamstring on the bench. He will undergo tests and a muscle injury is expected to be confirmed. Arthur remains sidelined for at least two more weeks.
With Arthur out, Nardoni had been operating alongside Leo Pérez in midfield. The setback leaves Grêmio facing the loss of a second starter in the same week.
Noriega, Dodi, Tiaguinho and Zórtea are the options to cover, with the latter two academy products. Noriega and Dodi are the more defensive choices.
Grêmio are aiming to have forward Amuzu available to face Deportivo Riestra on Tuesday in the Sul-Americana. The Belgian is receiving treatment for bone oedema in his right ankle after a knock against Coritiba.
Centre-back Viery and centre-forward Carlos Vinicius, absent through suspension, will return, as will head coach Luís Castro.
