Jürgen Klopp says workload is behind his decision to call up 44 Germany players and split them into two squads for four UEFA Nations League games.

According to BuLi News, each group will cover two matches and Klopp stressed there is no A or B team. He said the selections balance positions, character and a blend of experience and youth.

He added the target is to win all four games and to gather as many impressions of the players as possible.

Goalkeeper Finn Dahmen is the only footballer named in both groups, with Klopp wanting a longer look at him. He expects a few from the first squad to stay on with the DFB beyond the first week.

Germany open the Klopp era away to the Netherlands in Amsterdam on 24 September, then host Greece on 27 September and Serbia on 1 October, before travelling to Greece again on 3 October.
