Jürgen Klopp has confirmed Joshua Kimmich will be used in central midfield for Germany as he reshapes his squad.
According to BuLi News, the new head coach set out the plan on Thursday after unveiling two squads totalling 44 players for the upcoming four UEFA Nations League fixtures.
Kimmich had been used at right-back under Julian Nagelsmann, but the Germany captain now returns to his established role in the middle.
Klopp said Kimmich must lead and that the team need to adapt to a new style, with tactical work to do without the ball. He added he has no doubt Kimmich can reach his potential and that staff view him as a midfielder, with right-back not discussed.
Kimmich made his international debut in 2016 and has 10 goals and 31 assists from 114 appearances.
