Jürgen Klopp has set out why Deniz Undav was omitted from his first Germany squad for the UEFA Nations League.

According to BuLi News, the VfB Stuttgart forward was among the few positives of a difficult World Cup for Germany, which ended with a round-of-32 defeat by Paraguay.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Klopp said he has already spoken to Undav and that the striker has had minor issues and has not fully found his rhythm at the start of the season.

He added that he wanted to go with four strikers for now and had opted for others.

Klopp named 44 players for four fixtures, dividing them into two squads, each to play two matches. Younes Ebnoutalib and Kai Havertz were listed as the forwards in the first group, with Jonathan Burkardt and Nick Woltemade in the second.
