Bornauw was a regular in Daniel Farke’s matchday squads. Hamburg finished 13th in the top flight last season under Merlin Polzin, and begin this campaign away to Borussia Dortmund. Earlier on Wednesday, Joël Piroe also left Leeds to join West Ham on loan.
