Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri is in line for a high profile debut for Torino against Serie A giants AC Milan after he seals his Whites exit.

Perri lost his place as Leeds’ first-choice goalkeeper to Karl Darlow last season and has since moved closer to an Elland Road exit, with Torino now looking set to sign him.

The Whites were unwilling to let Perri leave until they had brought in a new goalkeeper to take over as their first choice, delaying the transfer.

Leeds have since solved their goalkeeping situation by signing James Trafford from Manchester City for a club-record £40m fee plus bonuses.

Perri then picked up a minor finger injury, forcing him to spend time recovering and further delaying his proposed move to Torino.

It was recently suggested that the Brazilian goalkeeper ‘will be in Turin on Thursday’ to undergo a medical and formalise his switch to the Serie A outfit.

Now, according to Torino-dedicated outlet Cuore Toro, Perri is set for a high-profile Torino debut against Serie A giants AC Milan.

It has been suggested that following the contract signing, the 28-year-old will begin his training with the first team to integrate with Torino’s tactical system.

The Brazilian shot-stopper had other options in Italy but chose Torino, believing the Turin club offered the right opportunity for the next chapter of his career.

With Perri set to leave, Leeds could seek another goalkeeper, as Trafford and Alex Cairns would be the only choices available to them.

Meanwhile, with the transfer window in full swing, Leeds are also looking to strengthen other areas of their squad ahead of their second season back in the Premier League.

Leeds-linked striker Ayase Ueda is said to be ‘waiting for a Premier League adventure’, handing the Whites a boost amid strong interest from Fenerbahce.
