The Brazilian shot-stopper was brought to Elland Road last summer to be the first-choice custodian for the Whites.

He started positively as well, but his performances faded, and Karl Darlow was trusted with the starting berth in the second half of the campaign.

Darlow left Leeds on a free transfer for Manchester United, but the Whites broke the bank to sign James Trafford from Manchester City signalling Perri would not be trusted with the gloves.

Perri and his entourage were already working on an exit from Elland Road and one was expected to happen.

Serie A outfit Torino have been the clear favourite destination for him this summer, but Leeds did not sanction his departure before they got their hands on Trafford.

However, the Serie A side are now at risk of missing out on him, as according to Italian outlet Toro Goal, Perri and his entourage were approached on Monday evening by Marseille.

It has been suggested that even though the Leeds shot-stopper is just a step away from becoming a Torino player, nothing has been signed yet.

Torino are set to sign Perri on loan with an option to buy, but now there is real doubt over the deal.

Marseille are keen to take him to the Stade Velodrome and the onus is on Perri to decide what to do.

The Brazilian goalkeeper spent a season with Ligue 1 giants Lyon, and by the end of the window, he could be at Marseille if he snubs Torino.

Les Olympiens, though, will need to step up their pursuit of Perri, as Torino will also put their foot on the gas after Marseille’s intervention.
