According to French outlet L’Equipe, Bayer Leverkusen have agreed a deal with Marseille for the signing of Facundo Medina. The total package is expected to be worth around €25 million, including bonuses.

The 27-year-old centre-back, who was part of Argentina’s squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals this summer, is expected to travel to Leverkusen once he returns from his post-tournament holiday. He is set to sign a contract running until 2031.

Leverkusen have been working to secure Medina’s signature for several weeks and have now finally made a breakthrough. Their opening bid was rejected just a few days ago, but an improved second offer appears to have satisfied Marseille, with reports suggesting all parties are now in agreement over the transfer.
