Lucas Michal to join Cercle Bruges on loan with no option to buy

According to L'Équipe, Monaco forward Lucas Michal is to join Cercle Bruges on loan.

The 21-year-old will travel to Belgium on Thursday.

He returns from a first development loan at Metz between February and May, making nine Ligue 1 appearances with two starts.

A former France Under-20 international, he is seeking regular minutes away from the Principality to complete a first full professional season.

Cercle, Monaco’s partner club, are on the verge of signing striker Matthis Abline.

The loan includes no option to buy, and Michal remains under contract with Monaco until June 2029.
