Lyon have completed the post-deadline signing of Japanese winger Keito Nakamura from Reims as a joker on a four-year deal. The package is one million euros fixed plus add-ons up to €19 million, with up to 12.5% of any future profit, so the fee could move towards €20 million over time.
Finalised a day after the window closed, the deal allowed Lyon to sign him as a joker. The 26-year-old arrives to cover the last-minute exit of Malick Fofana in attack.
Born in Abiko on 28 July 2000, Nakamura came through at Gamba Osaka. He becomes the first Japanese player in Lyon’s history.
He brings significant experience, with 270 appearances across club and country, including 29 caps and 11 goals for Japan. He featured at the last World Cup and scored against the Netherlands.
After leaving Japan he played in the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria, before joining Reims in 2023. He spent two years in Ligue 1 then last season in Ligue 2, scoring 30 goals in 97 games for Reims.
