Keito Nakamura (26) has completed a move from Stade de Reims to Olympique Lyonnais, following the closure of the transfer window in France.
Lyon lost Malick Fofana in the final moments of the summer transfer window. The Belgian was a key player for OL and one who needed replacing. A deal to sign Japan international Nakamura from Reims was not concluded before the closure of the transfer window on Tuesday evening. However, rules in France permit clubs to make a ‘joker’ transfer in certain circumstances, provided that the player is signed from another French club.
A deal for Nakamura was concluded on Wednesday evening. The left-winger has signed a four-year deal with Les Gones. Including bonuses, the deal could be worth up to €19m, whilst Les Stadistes have secured a 12.5% sell-on clause. By completing the signing on Wednesday, OL have ensured that the Japanese winger will be able to be registered in their squad for their UEFA Europa League campaign.
