Massimo Ambrosini says Juventus midfield needs something more | OneFootball

Former Serie A star Massimo Ambrosini has commented on Juventus’ preparation ahead of their season opener today, and he believes the Old Lady are ready to go, but they still need to sort out their midfield.

In a long season, some players will improve, while others could struggle, so it would be better for the Bianconeri to have quality throughout their squad.

Ambrosini identifies midfield issue

Juventus remain one of the most trusted names in Italian football, and they still have time to improve their squad, with several players remaining on their current shopping list.

Ambrosini believes the Bianconeri have made some positive additions, but he feels their midfield still needs attention. The former Serie A star has also highlighted the importance of finding the right balance between the players available to Luciano Spalletti.

Juve have already strengthened their defence, and the arrival of new players has given supporters reasons to be optimistic. However, Ambrosini believes midfield remains an area that requires more quality if they are to compete throughout the season.

Ambrosini praises Juventus options

Ambrosini has now commented on their squad and said via Tuttojuve:

“I like Lucumi in defence, and I’m curious to see Alajbegovic, a guy who’s not lacking in boldness, in the positive sense of the word. However, I think there’s still something missing in midfield. Douglas Luiz is a player I appreciate. Juve needs quality, even if the Brazilian doesn’t look great alongside Locatelli. If one of them plays, the other midfielder needs to be fast and dynamic.”

His comments suggest that Juventus have enough quality in defence and attacking areas, but their midfield could determine how well they perform this season.

Spalletti will therefore need to find the right combinations and ensure his midfielders complement each other. If Juventus can improve that area, Ambrosini believes they could be better prepared for the demands of the campaign.
