Middlesbrough are set to be without Alfie Jones until after the international break after the defender suffered a calf injury.
Jones was forced off at half-time during Saturday’s 4-3 win over Norwich and the Boro boss has now confirmed the defender will miss Tuesday night’s clash with Millwall, and is also unlikely to feature against Birmingham City at the weekend.
“I don’t think he will play before the break,” Hellberg said.
“I’m not ruling that out completely, but if I would guess, I think he’s back after or during the break.
“But I think it will be tough for him to play in any of those two games that are on now.”
Hellberg is otherwise expected to have a largely fit senior squad available for the visit of Millwall.
The Boro boss also admitted Tommy Conway is unlikely to be ready to complete 90 minutes before the break as he continues to build his fitness.
