Nico Schlotterbeck suffers fresh injury during Germany training  | OneFootball

Ahead of Germany’s UEFA Nations League game against Serbia, Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck went down with an injury during training, according to Sky Germany. The central defender was seen covering his face while down on the training pitch. 

The report further indicated that Schlotterbeck will need an MRI after suffering a foot injury, which was closely examined by Dr. Jochen Hahne.

Schlotterbeck recently returned from an injury sustained at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He was taken off in Germany’s group stage game against Ivory Coast and was sidelined for a couple of months. He then made his return in Dortmund’s 3-0 win against Paderborn, playing 77 minutes before playing the full 90 minutes against Stuttgart the following week. 

After being called up by Jürgen Klopp for the national team, he featured in the 1-1 draw against the Netherlands. 

It hasn’t yet been made clear how long the current injury will keep him away from action.
