Palmeiras lead Brazil’s second window sales as Grêmio and Flamengo cash in | OneFootball

Palmeiras topped Brazil’s second transfer window, bringing in almost R$ 300 million from five academy sales, according to Globo.com. The haul was driven by one of the biggest transfers in the country’s history.

Attacking midfielder Allan joined Manchester City for €37.5 million guaranteed, R$ 226.1 million. If contractual targets are met, the fee could reach R$ 240 million, which would rank as Brazil’s ninth costliest sale.

Grêmio were next, banking more than R$ 180 million from three outbound transfers. The headline move saw defender Viery sign for Fiorentina for €15 million.

Flamengo completed the podium, nearing R$ 100 million after four departures worth about R$ 95 million. A €10 million switch to Dynamo Moscow for the Ecuadorian Plata did not materialise, which would have been a fifth sale.

Cruzeiro sold Ian Luccas to Portugal’s FC Alverca and Christian to Krasnodar for $10.5 million. Full-back Kaiki Bruno left on loan with an obligation to buy for €14 million, a sum that would be recognised in a future window if executed.

In Rio, Fluminense moved midfielder Bernal to Betis for $12 million, while Uruguayan Santi Rodríguez joined Columbus Crew for $6.8 million. Across Série A, 22 outgoing deals generated R$ 814.581 million.

Sports specialist Pedro Weber said player trading now underpins club finances, with investment in youth development creating recurring income. He added that reinvesting proceeds into academies, infrastructure or operations can support more sustainable models.
