Uruguayan right-back Pedro Milans, 23, has become the 80th foreign player in Corinthians history and the sixth overseas member of the club’s active squad after being unveiled on Wednesday.
He is the ninth Uruguayan to represent the club. According to Meu Timao, the last was centre-back Bruno Méndez, who played 119 games and scored once between 2019 and 2023.
Ángel Romero leads the club’s foreign appearance list with 377 matches, 67 goals and six titles. He is followed by compatriot Balbuena, on 167 games and three titles, and Colombian Freddy Rincón, on 158 and four trophies.
In the current squad, the foreign options for Dorival Júnior are José Martínez of Venezuela, Rodrigo Garro of Argentina, André Carrillo of Peru, Memphis Depay of the Netherlands and Héctor Hernández of Spain, although Hernández is not in the plans. Félix Torres and Diego Palacios, both Ecuadorian, are out on loan to Internacional and Universidad Católica of Ecuador respectively.
In all, Corinthians have fielded players from 22 foreign nations: Italy, Spain, Argentina, Lebanon, Hungary, Uruguay, Croatia, Poland, Chile, United States of America, Japan, Paraguay, Portugal, South Africa, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, China, England, Ecuador, Venezuela and the Netherlands.
Of the previous 79, only three never took the field, Argentines Emiliano Vecchio and Mariano Torres, and Paraguayan goalkeeper Aldo Bobadilla.
Milans has signed until the end of 2029 and is already listed in the CBF’s daily registration bulletin. He awaits Campeonato Paulista registration to be eligible for Sunday’s fifth-round match against Velo Clube.
