Porto make €8m official offer for Gabriel Mec | OneFootball

According to Gremistas.net, Porto have lodged an official €8 million bid, around R$ 48 million, for 18-year-old attacking midfielder Gabriel Mec, with the parties now assessing the proposal.

About a month ago Shakhtar Donetsk made a formal offer, but talks ended over differences on the sporting project. Given Porto compete in a leading European league, the situation could now move forward.

The figure sits below what Grêmio deem ideal, but internal factors are in play. Club officials are not expecting many other concrete bids, and while there have been enquiries from Türkiye, no formal offers have arrived.

Mec is under contract until September 2027. A verbally agreed extension remains unsigned, and a continued stay would increase pressure to finalise new terms quickly.

Grêmio own 70 per cent of the player’s economic rights. He has recently slipped down Luis Castro’s pecking order and has gone unused in some matches.

Mec will not feature against Chapecoense at the Arena on Sunday (30) at 18:30 in the Brasileirão, having reported pubis pain, and will be rested.
