Régis Le Bris gives Nilson Angulo update before Sunderland visit Arsenal

Régis Le Bris says Nilson Angulo could be involved when Sunderland visit Arsenal on Saturday.

According to Sunderland Echo, the forward has not yet trained with his new team mates and is due at the Academy of Light on Thursday night. That is likely to limit his role, though Le Bris has no concerns over fitness after his regular minutes for Anderlecht.

The head coach did not rule out naming Angulo on the bench at The Emirates, with a debut possible if integration goes smoothly.

Le Bris added that there is still no definitive timeframe on Granit Xhaka’s return, though the midfielder is progressing and ran on a treadmill on Thursday.

He also confirmed that Omar Alderete is fit to be in the squad. The defender limped off late in the 3-0 win over Burnley and Le Bris said that withdrawal was precautionary.
