Remo are negotiating a loan for Santos defender Zé Ivaldo until the end of the season, with the centre-back currently training away from the first team.
Globo Esporte reports that talks have been ongoing for about a month and the parties are finalising terms, with the expectation that any deal would run to the season’s end. He remains under contract with Santos until December 2027.
Out of the coaching staff’s plans, Zé Ivaldo has been working separately at the CT Rei Pelé since the squad reconvened after the calendar pause. This year he has 12 appearances, five in the Brasileirão and seven in the Paulista.
Signed last year on loan from Cruzeiro, his deal included a clause that a permanent transfer would be required if he played in 60% of the year’s matches, which was triggered for US$ one million, about R$5.3 million at the time.
In 2023 he made 34 appearances for Santos, scoring one goal across 17 Brasileirão matches, 12 in the Paulista and two in the Copa do Brasil.
Born in Maceió and aged 29, he came through CRB in 2014 before joining Athletico-PR in 2015, spending eight seasons and taking loans to Vitória in 2019 and Cruzeiro in 2022. With Athletico-PR he won four Paranaense titles and two Conmebol Sudamericana. For Cruzeiro he played 83 matches, scored five and provided three assists, and was part of the 2022 Série B winners.
