Celtic are reportedly attempting to sign Jordan Lotomba for free. The Scottish Champions are working frantically in the final stages of the transfer window and could add six players in a number of positions.

Last night, Celts Are Here revealed that the club were interested in signing 27-year-old right back Lotomba from Feyenoord. Sky Sports confirmed talks were underway this evening and now, Mark Hendry has provided an a further update via the fan media site.

The report states that Celtic are looking to add the player for free with add-ons rewarding the Dutch side for allowing the 27-year-old to depart. It is a unique way to structure the deal but it makes sense given the player has a year remaining on his deal and allows for the Rotterdam side to get him off the wage bill.

Celtic will be looking for backup to injured Alistair Johnston and whilst Colby Donovan has impressed, further quality is required to bolster the backline. Tony Ralston’s game time appears to be somewhat limited if the ex-Nice defender arrives.

Lotomba is versatile and can also play at left back, which may be of benefit to the Scottish Champions.
