Even though River Plate were heavy favourites heading into their Copa America contest, they could not have believed they would win this contest by such a wide margin, defeating lowly Central Norte by a whopping 7-0.
River dominated from the first minute of the match and were quickly rewarded through Nacho Scocco just five minutes into the contest. Lucas Pratto would double their advantage just ten minutes later, while Scocco would complete his brace in the 22nd minute.
Lucas Martínez would take advantage of poor goalkeeping and head home River’s fourth goal just past the half-hour mark.
Exequiel Palacios sent the hosts into the locker room with an unimaginable five-goal advantage, and would score his second just four minutes into the second half to give Los Millonarios a six-goal lead.
River refused to take their foot off the gas, and Rafael Borré finished the scoring, getting behind the Central Norte defense and easily sliding the ball past the poor keeper.
