Romain Saiss thanked Wolves supporters for their welcome on his Molineux return. The player said in a post, "Once a wolf, always a wolf".
He signed in 2016, played in the 2018 title-winning side and was central to early top-flight success under Nuno as they reached the last eight of the Europa League.
It is four years since he left for Besiktas, and he now plays for Al Sadd in the Qatar Stars League. He was back before Saturday’s game and was paraded around the pitch to loud applause.
In his message, he thanked the club and supporters for the warm welcome given to his family, said they still feel at home despite the years, and said the club would return to where it belongs. He added that after darkness comes light, and signed off with, "DJ, never forgotten", alongside a promise to see supporters soon.
The afternoon also celebrated another former favourite, Raul Jimenez, who was serenaded throughout the meeting with Fulham and again when he came off the bench for the visitors. After the game he opened the door to a potential Molineux return in an interview.
