Roony Bardghji suffered a serious injury to his right knee during Barcelona’s Monday morning training session, leaving his future in suspense. Early indications are not encouraging and the 20-year-old could be sidelined for several months.
According to Superdeporte, the club are expected to provide more details on Tuesday once medical tests confirm the diagnosis and treatment plan. No formal medical statement had been issued at the time of writing.
Hansi Flick had already told Bardghji he would not have first-team chances this season. The arrival of Karim Adeyemi further reduced his prospects as cover for Lamine Yamal on the right. He was not called up for the triangular in Udine, with Marc Casadó also omitted as he seeks a move.
The setback pauses a possible departure for the winger, who had been exploring options, particularly in the Premier League.
The Swedish winger, born in Kuwait and of Syrian origin, joined Barcelona last summer for €2.5 million. He arrived after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament rupture, also in his right knee, sustained while at Copenhagen.
