Santos have moved towards agreeing a deal to sign Atlético-MG forward Rony. According to Globo.com, the fee is expected to be around three million euros plus bonuses, under a pre-agreed three-year contract.
The club remains cautious given recent interest from Corinthians, which has publicly said it is monitoring the forward. The framework was set in a Monday night meeting in Belém, Pará, between director Alexandre Mattos and agent Hércules Júnior.
Rony is expected to bid farewell to his Atlético-MG team-mates on Tuesday and arrive in Santos by Friday.
He is not expected to be named by coach Jorge Sampaoli for the match against Palmeiras on Wednesday at 19:00 Brasília time, at Arena MRV, in the opening round of the Brasileirão.
Rony is lined up as Santos’ third signing for the 2026 season. At 30, the former Palmeiras forward is an option to fill the vacancy left by Guilherme, who has been sold to Houston Dynamo in the United States.
