The club said in a statement that technical issues with its new account system have been resolved after problems that prompted queues outside the Stadium of Light ticket office this week.

The ticketing team is working through a backlog of enquiries after supporters were asked to create new accounts last week to streamline access across platforms.

No account history, Black Cats Points or the ability to buy Europa tickets has been affected.

Some fans struggled to log in or were incorrectly matched to another Supporter ID using the same email address.

Supporters still experiencing problems after following the FAQs are advised to submit a request via the Ticketing and Memberships section of the help centre.

Tickets for the Roker End are now on sale for Saturday’s final pre-season friendly against Stade Rennais.
