Two victims forgive four footballers in sex video case as trial opens | OneFootball

Two young women who appear in sexual videos told the judge they forgive Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio and his former team-mates Ferrán Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez and Andrés García.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, their formal pardon at the start of the hearing before Criminal Court number five in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria enables the prosecution to drop the disclosure of secrets charges against all four.

That offence concerns the distribution of intimate images without consent.

However, child pornography charges against Ruiz, Rodríguez and García, not against Asencio, remain because they allegedly recorded a sexual video with a minor. One of the girls was 16 at the time, in 2023, and a victim’s pardon does not extinguish criminal liability for that offence.

After hearing the two complainants, the judge ordered a recess.
