Update emerges on ex-QPR and Plymouth Argyle star who was reported missing | OneFootball

Akos Buzsaky has shared a message after the former QPR and Plymouth man was reported missing earlier this week.

Former QPR and Plymouth attacking midfielder Akos Buzsaky has thanked those who had shown him ‘love’ after he confirmed he is safe after he was reported missing.

The 44-year-old had an excellent playing career that saw him turn out for a host of clubs across Europe, including MTK Budapest, Porto and Ferencvaros.

However, Buzsaky is arguably best remembered for his time in England, and whilst he had spells with Barnsley and Portsmouth, it was with QPR and Plymouth where he was a firm favourite with the fans.

Therefore, it was a huge concern for both clubs, and the wider football world, when it was said earlier in the week that Buzsaky had gone missing in his home country and the police had ‘launched a search’ for him.

Both Plymouth and QPR sent out messages on social media showing their support for Buzsaky, and, in a pleasing development, the ex-player sent a message, which was shared by the R’s on social media.

“Dear friends and acquaintances,

“Unfortunately, in the past few months, there have been serious changes in my life that have tested me. The dead bodies have been piling up above my head, and there came a moment when I felt I had to break away from these daily routines, due to a misunderstanding, my worried mother pointed me towards the police.

“Thank you very much for all the concern and thoughts you have shown me. As soon as I learned about the situation, I stopped my retreat and informed the authorities. I wish everyone a nice day, and it felt really good to receive so much love!”

Obviously, football doesn’t matter at a time like this, but it highlighted the power of the sport and social media with all the love that he was shown.

Clearly, he has his own personal issues to deal with, but the main thing is that fans will be delighted to have had a message from him.

Even though most won’t know him personally, and he is living abroad, there is always a connection between fans and former players, and Buzsaky was very much appreciated at Home Park and Loftus Road.

Of course, this will depend on the player, but it would be great at some point in the future if Buzsaky could return to both grounds, where he would undoubtedly get a great reception.

After clarifying the situation, he explained how he was appreciative of the love he was shown by the football world, and a lot of that will have come from fans of those two clubs.

So, you would expect them to reach out to him, and, even though he retired from the game over a decade ago, he provided plenty of great memories that fans of Argyle and QPR will remember for a long time.

Ultimately, after the worrying development, it’s great to hear from Buzsaky, and all in the game will wish him well moving forward.
