There is not much time left before the summer transfer window of 2026 comes to an end, and as far as Real Madrid are concerned, it has been a quiet day so far.

With most of their business completed very early in the summer, Los Blancos entered the deadline day with no plans of any late signings. However, the possibility of some last-minute departures was not ruled out.

One of the club’s most talented young midfield prospects, Manuel Angel, is on his way to Fulham in a deal worth €4 million.

Now, there has been some movement concerning another exciting La Fabrica player as we enter the final stretch.

Valencia want Joan Martinez

Indeed, according to Radio Esport 91.4, La Liga side Valencia have made a late enquiry for Real Madrid youngster Joan Martinez.

Los Che are seeking to sign the teenage defender on a loan deal for the remainder of the 2026/27 season and have asked about the possibility of a deadline-day move.

The report highlights that, as things stand, Martinez has multiple options as far as his future is concerned, including staying put at Real Madrid.

Nonetheless, Valencia are pressing in the final hours of the transfer window to try and secure the youngster on loan.

What should Real Madrid do?

It is no secret that Martinez is widely regarded as one of the most talented youngsters to have come through La Fabrica in recent years.

The 19-year-old prospect first broke into the first-team scene under Carlo Ancelotti back in 2024, taking part in pre-season, but an ACL injury sidelined him for a prolonged period.

Having made successful recovery, the teenage centre-back was called up to the matchday squad on multiple occasions last season, by both Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa.

Martinez was a part of the first-team squad for seven games last term, but did not make his debut.

This summer, the youngster participated in pre-season under Jose Mourinho and also took part in a few friendlies, earning praise from the Portuguese tactician.

However, with a pathway to regular action in the senior setup unavailable, a loan move to another La Liga club could make sense for the youngster.

After all, Mourinho has Ibrahima Konate, Dean Huijsen, Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, as well as Raul Asencio, who has refused to leave, at his disposal for the first team.
