AS Monaco will operate under a capped wage bill in 2026-27 after the DNCG imposed payroll controls on the club.
According to RMC, the sanction requires Monaco to set a forecast salary budget that cannot be exceeded, and any new contract must fit within that limit to be approved by the DNCG before registration by the LFP.
OGC Nice and RC Strasbourg face no measures for the same season.
The decision had been anticipated given strained domestic TV rights and Monaco's non-qualification for the Champions League, which together reduce expected income.
Financial pressure has already forced sales of Wilfried Singo and George Ilenikhena last season. The hierarchy will need to continue offloading assets, and Maghnes Akliouche, Folarin Balogun and Lamine Camara could be among those considered.
